Temporary registration permits

Red CentreNATS in Alice Springs is the only place in Australia where you can drive your highly modified, unregistered car on the streets, thanks to a temporary permit.

The NT Government will continue to give entrants the unique opportunity to apply for Temporary Registration Permits to use Red CentreNATS road cruise routes around Alice Springs over the Fathers Day weekend in 2026. This will mean vehicles usually relegated to the trailer, will have an opportunity to cruise the streets of Alice Springs.

The cost of the Temporary Registration is not included in you RCN Entrant Fee. Costs are Temporary Licences - $54.05 and Permits of Exemption - $83.00
